HOW TO COMMISSION A PET/ANIMAL PORTRAIT
The bond between you and your pet is a special one and a painting which captures the essence of their character is one you can treasure forever. A bespoke portrait would also make a unique and treasured gift.
If you like my style of painting from the examples shown here, I would be happy to paint a unique portrait of your pet or other animal/bird from a good quality photograph.
All you need to do is contact me either through the 'contact us' section here on the website or you can email me at 'theramblingartist@outlook.com' or message me on social media (links at the bottom of the page).
TESTIMONIALS
"We commissioned a compilation painting for my dads 80th birthday present as he has always said he'd like a painting with all of his dogs that he's had, spanning back since the 1960s. The biggest challenge was finding decent photos of the older ones, before decent digital photos or many traditional photos were taken. Thanks so much for your patience whilst we got the right collection together and we're all thrilled with the end result! x"
"Sharon has a wonderful talent and an uncanny knack of capturing qualities and personalities of animals. We are big fans of her work and have three of our dogs painted by her. We would highly recommend her if you are looking to have a pet portrait painted"
PRICES AND PROCESS OF COMMISSIONED WORK
SOURCE PHOTOGRAPHS
When providing reference photos for your painting please make sure they are of good quality. They need to be clear and close up so that I can still see the details when zooming into the image. It's very important that I can see the eyes. Remember I can only paint what I can see in the photo. Several photos are preferable and if you can tell me a bit about the character/personality of your pet as well, it helps me get a feel for him or her.
Please understand that however much I hate to turn a commission request down, I may do so if I feel I can't do your pet justice from the photos you provide.
Commissioned work generally takes around 3-6 weeks to complete but I recommend getting booked in as long as possible in advance to allow for busier times. It is best to book early if it is intended to be a birthday or Christmas gift.
All custom work has a 50% deposit and payment can be processed by bank transfer, paypal or cheque. This then secures your place in my diary. Commissions will be started in the order a deposit is received. I regret that deposits are only refundable if I am unable to complete your painting. On completion I will contact you with a photo of the finished portrait and once you are happy, then the remainder of the payment is due including any postage costs. Once full payment is received your finished portrait will then be posted to you.
POSTAGE AND PACKING
Postage and packing within the UK will be an additional charge which will cover signed for or special delivery in order to ensure your artwork arrives safely - I aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible so your portrait is likely to be packaged using recycled packaging. Your painting will arrive in a cellophane bag with backing board ready for you to mount and frame to your personal choice.
