When I start a painting I usually, but not always, have an idea in my head of how the painting will look and this was the case when I started this painting of a beautiful Bald Eagle. It was one of those days however when what materialised on the paper in front of me didn't match the image in my head. When this happens it can feel like it's all going wrong but I've learned over the years to not fret and just go with the flow and see what happens. This strategy doesn't always work however and paintings can end up thrown in the bin in frustration but sometimes by just keeping calm and carrying on to see what happens you end up quite liking the result - and a bit of salt splatter always helps too!
