Wolves are Britain's last top predator to become extinct.
There's been a lot of talk about rewilding our countryside with focus on this being about the reintroduction of these apex predators but there is a lot more to rewilding than the reintroduction of wolves and other top predators.
Rewilding is about encouraging nature to thrive, repairing ecosystems and boosting biodiversity such as protecting and connecting ancient woodlands, creating better protection for marine life, restoring wetlands, connecting up habitats and on a smaller scale we can help by creating wildlife friendly gardens and helping wildlife move through our gardens by having gaps in any fences for them to pass through.
In an ideal world though, how wonderful would it be to have wolves back in the UK.
This snowy wolf is painted in my looser style using a salt effect to give the impression of snow
